COLLTEX – AT A GLANCE

Tradition meets innovation at the Swiss climbing skin manufacturer Colltex. Based in the heart of Switzerland, in the canton of Glarus, Hans Fischli founded the company in 1948. The inventor quickly turned his focus to climbing skins. The big breakthrough came in 1968: Fischli invented the first self-adhesive ski skin – a milestone in ski touring.

Colltex quickly made a name for itself and developed numerous other revolutionary innovations, such as the Camlock fastening system and the inorganic adhesive, ct40. In 2014, Colltex presented its first ski skin with acrylate coating – the first skin without adhesive. Their inventive spirit and the passion for innovative development has been relentless for over 70 years. But all their innovations follow two important rules: climbing skins have to withstand extreme conditions as well as ensure comfortable ascents. For this, Colltex relies on their cooperation with mountain guides, free riders, ski tourers and sports retailers. Arnold Sports GmbH has been a Colltex distributor in Germany since 2015.
